One of the many types of employment law claims that our firm handles are discrimination cases based on veteran or military status discrimination cases. New Jersey and New York law both prohibit employers from discriminating against you based on the fact that you are a current or retired member of the United States military, including members of the reserves. Thus, whether you are a current or former member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, United States Coast Guard or Army National Guard, the law protects you from employment discrimination and harassment on that basis.
Our nation owes a great debt to those who serve in the armed forces. Employers should honor our active service members and our veterans. They certainly should not treat them worse than their peers. If you have been the victim of this form of unlawful discrimination at work, Rabner Baumgart Ben-Asher & Nirenberg, P.C. can fight to enforce your legal rights.
If you have been fired, demoted, passed up for a promotion, harassed or experienced another form of discrimination at your job because of your affiliation with the armed services or based on another form of legally prohibited discrimination, our employment lawyers can help. We will carefully analyze the facts and circumstances of your case to help figure out the best way to enforce your legal rights. Please contact us to schedule an initial consultation. About Fort LeeThe Borough of Fort Lee is located just across the George Washington Bridge from New York City, in Bergen County, New Jersey. The Borough is named after a fort that was built in 1776, during the American Revolution, to help defend New York City by controlling the Hudson River. The Borough was formed in 1904 from sections of Ridgefield Township. Today it is bordered by Edgewater, Englewood Cliffs, Palisades Park and Leonia.
